GNS-101-1U can accept up to 17 of the company’s RF modules, mixed and matched from BUC/LNB power supply’s, frequency converters, matrices, RF-over-fibre, redundancy switches or test loop translators.
It has dual-redundant hot-swappable power supplies, and these as well as the touchscreen, CPU, RF modules and optional 10MHz internal reference source are field serviceable – there is also an external 10MHz option.
“The modular chassis offers security protocols with SNMPv3 and HTTPS,” according to the company. “Remote control and monitoring is provided via RJ45 Ethernet port with SNMP and web browser interface.”
Fitting into a 19in rack, the chassis is 550mm deep.
Applications are foreseen in teleports, ground stations, maritime and LEO gateways.
Based in Herefordshire next to BT’s Madley Satellite Earth Station, ETL has 150 staff on a site including RF testing, software design, automated circuit board production and machining workshops. “This means that design, production and maintenance can be carried out in-house under the umbrella of the ISO 9001 quality management system,” it said.
